Small business AI help

Hi, I’m Justin with Supportive Tech in Berkeley. I help small business owners put AI to use on the work that eats up their day.

You don’t need any AI experience. If you already use it casually, I can help you go deeper and put it to work on more involved tasks in your business.

A few examples from my work

Update the store through chat

We wanted to save time by using a chat interface to update our ecommerce site. So we connected our inventory system, Airtable, to Discord and built a publishing workflow to WooCommerce. AI helped turn product notes into structured records and store listings, with a review before publication. This opens up the possibility of updating our site from anywhere, as easily as sending a chat message.

Cut recurring software costs

We wanted to bring down our software bills. So we used AI to review costs, usage, and overlapping services, then help carry out the changes: logging into accounts, migrating systems, and adjusting service levels. We cut back the number of vendors and moved to smaller plans, adding up to substantial savings.

Make sense of years of sales

We wanted to understand how sales compared across our delivery and mail-order businesses, but the records were spread across different systems. So we used AI to combine the order histories, standardize the data, and check the totals against the originals. We could then compare sales across channels and time periods.

Start with one real task

Show me something you do repeatedly, or a job you keep putting off. In a first working session, we can work through a task you bring, try an approach, and figure out what’s worth setting up.

We can work through it together, or I can handle the setup and show you how to use it. We’ll check the results against your actual business information. You decide what gets sent or published.

I co-founded an ecommerce business, and I use AI in my own work with product listings, software costs, and sales data. I’ve also spent decades helping people make sense of technology. I’m happy to explain things as we go.
